- Največji sovražnik je ego. Največja izguba je izgubiti samega sebe.
- Aroganca je najslabša poraz. Samozaničevanje je najbolj obžalovanja vreden dogodek.
- Sočutje in zavedanje minljivosti, ki se pojavi v umu, sta največja darila.
Torej Ānanda, potem ko bom odšel, naj bo učenje vaša otočna postaja, živite kot svoj otok, svoje zatočišče, brez drugega zatočišča.
Za neodvisnega ni razburjenja. Ko ni razburjenja, je mir. Ko je mir, ni nagibov. Ko ni nagibov, ni prihajanja in odhajanja. Ko ni prihajanja in odhajanja, ni umiranja in ponovnega rojstva. Ko ni umiranja in ponovnega rojstva, ni tega sveta ali sveta onkraj ali med obema.
